Verse : 001
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : Hallow thou the name of thine Lord, the Most High,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : Pronounce the purity of the name of your most exalted Lord,
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High,
Eng-Yusuf Ali : Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High,
Verse : 002
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : Who hath created and then proportioned,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : Who has created (everything), and then proportioned it;
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : Who created (everything), then made (it) well,
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : Who createth, then disposeth;
Eng-Yusuf Ali : Who hath created, and further, given order and proportion;
Verse : 003
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : And Who hath disposed and then guided,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : And Who has measured (preordainments for everything even to be blessed or wretched); and then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture);
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : And who determined a measure (for everything), then guided (it),
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : Who measureth, then guideth;
Eng-Yusuf Ali : Who hath ordained laws. And granted guidance;
Verse : 004
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : And Who bringeth forth the pasturage,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : And Who brings out the pasturage,
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : And who brought forth pasturage,
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : Who bringeth forth the pasturage,
Eng-Yusuf Ali : And Who bringeth out the (green and luscious) pasture.
Verse : 005
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : Then maketh it to stubble dusky.
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : And then makes it dark stubble
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : Then turned it into a blackening stubble.
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : Then turneth it to russet stubble.
Eng-Yusuf Ali : And then doth make it (but) swarthy stubble.
Verse : 006
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : We shall enable thee to recite, and then thou shalt not forget,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : We shall make you to recite (the Qur’ân), so you (O Muhammad (SAW)) shall not forget (it),
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : We will make you recite, then you will not forget
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget
Eng-Yusuf Ali : By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget,
Verse : 007
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : Save that which Allah may will. Verily He knoweth the public and that which is hidden.
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : Except what Allâh, may will, He knows what is apparent and what is hidden.
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : Except that which Allah wills. Indeed He knows what is manifest and what is hidden.
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden;
Eng-Yusuf Ali : Except as Allah wills: For He knoweth what is manifest and what is hidden.
Verse : 008
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : And We shall make easy Unto thee the easy way.
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (SAW)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds).
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : And We will facilitate for you (to reach) the easiest way.
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease.
Eng-Yusuf Ali : And We will make it easy for thee (to follow) the simple (Path).
Verse : 009
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : Wherefore admonish thou; admonition hath surely profited,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them)
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : So, extend advice (to people) if advice is useful.
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : Therefore remind (men), for of use is the reminder.
Eng-Yusuf Ali : Therefore give admonition in case the admonition profits (the hearer).
Verse : 010
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : Admonished is he indeed who feareth,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : The reminder will be received by him who fears (Allâh),
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : The one who fears (Allah) will observe the advice,
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : He will heed who feareth,
Eng-Yusuf Ali : The admonition will be received by those who fear (Allah):
Verse : 011
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : And the wretched shunneth it-.
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : But it will be avoided by the wretched,
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : And it will be avoided by the most wretched one
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : But the most hapless will flout it,
Eng-Yusuf Ali : But it will be avoided by those most unfortunate ones.
Verse : 012
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : He Who shall roast into the Great Fire,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : Who will enter the great Fire (and will be made to taste its burning).
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : Who will enter the Biggest Fire,
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : He who will be flung to the great Fire
Eng-Yusuf Ali : Who will enter the Great Fire,
Verse : 013
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : Wherein he shall neither die nor live,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : There he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living).
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : Then he will neither die therein, nor live (a desirable life).
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : Wherein he will neither die nor live.
Eng-Yusuf Ali : In which they will then neither die nor live.
Verse : 014
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : He indeed hath attained bliss who hath cleansed himself,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islâmic Monotheism) shall achieve success,
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : Success is surely achieved by him who purifies himself,
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : He is successful who groweth,
Eng-Yusuf Ali : But those will prosper who purifies themselves.
Verse : 015
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : And who remembereth the name of his Lord, and then prayeth.
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allâh), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawâfil — additional prayers).
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : And pronounces the name of his Lord, then offers prayer.
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth,
Eng-Yusuf Ali : And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in Prayer.
Verse : 016
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : But ye prefer the life of this world,
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : Nay, you prefer the life of this world,
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : But you prefer the worldly life,
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : But ye prefer the life of the world
Eng-Yusuf Ali : Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world;
Verse : 017
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : Whereas the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : While the Hereafter is much better and much more durable.
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
Eng-Yusuf Ali : But the Hereafter is better and more enduring.
Verse : 018
Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : Verily this is in Writs ancient
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : Verily, this is in the former Scriptures —
Eng-Mufti-Taqi-Usmani-Audio : Indeed this is (written) in the earlier divine scripts,
Eng-Pickthal-Audio : Lo! This is in the former scrolls.
Eng-Yusuf Ali : And this is in the Books of the earliest (Revelations)―

Eng-Abdul Daryabadi : Writs of Ibrahim and Musa.
Eng-Dr. Mohsin : The Scriptures of Ibrâhim (Abraham) and Mûsa (Moses).
